Belgijec Olivier Schrauwen je trenutno eden najbolj vročih in samosvojih avtorjev v svetu neodvisnega stripa. Njegov prvenec Fant moj (My Boy) iz leta 2006 je ob izidu s strani kritikov požel številne pohvale in ustoličil avtorja kot enega bolj inovativnih na področju sodobne stripovske ustvarjalnosti, kar je v naslednjih letih le še dodatno potrdil s stripovskimi albumi, kot so Mož, ki si je puščal rasti brado (The Man Who Grew His Beard), Arsène Schrauwen in Vzporedna življenja (Parallel Lives), ki so izšli pri renomiranih stripovskih založbah in so prevedeni v različne jezike. Vsako njegovo stripovsko delo je malodane unikatna vaja v stilu in mojstrski prikaz raziskovanja prožnosti stripovske forme. Pogosto je zastopan v različnih alternativnih stripovskih antologijah in revijah, svoje delo pa redno predstavlja tudi na festivalih in razstavah širom sveta. Na festivalu se bo mudil kot gost revije Stripburger, ki bo ob tej priliki v slovenščini izdala njegov album Fant moj.

Kinotečni poklon ameriškemu pionirju stripa in animacije Winsorju McCayu, pri čigar delu se je vizualno navdihoval tudi Olivier Schrauwen v albumu Fant moj, katerega slovenski prevod je pravkar izšel pri Stripburgerju. Belgijski stripar in animator bo program tudi uvedel. Projekcijo kratkih animiranih filmov bo v živo spremljal pianist Andrej Goričar.

Mali Nemo je glavni junak serije tedenskih stripov Winsorja McCaya iz časopisa New York Herald. Prvi McCayev poskus animacije, ki je pozneje postal ena od prvih animiranih klasik, prikazuje avtorja, ki načrte o animaciji svojega stripa razkriva “umetniškim prijateljem”, ti pa se zamisli posmehujejo. Kratki film nas vodi skozi proces ustvarjanja in snemanja animiranega dela od zasnove do končnega izdelka.

Olivier Schrauwen, ki je v zadnjih letih s presenetljivimi vizualnimi eksperimenti in ustvarjalno svežino vzbudil veliko zanimanja na mednarodni neodvisni stripovski sceni, se v Ljubljani predstavlja z mini pregledno razstavo svojega dela z naslovom Hej! Sem O. Schrauwen v galeriji Alkatraz. Na ogled bo izbor originalnih strani iz njegovega pisanega stripovskega opusa, pa tudi animacije in grafike. Ob razstavi bo v Stripburgerjevi zbirki Ambasada Strip izšel tudi njegov album Fant moj, ki se vizualno navdihuje pri ameriških pionirjih stripa, kot sta Winsor McCay in Lyonel Feininger. Z nadrealistično igrivostjo, vsakovrstnimi eksotičnimi bizarnostmi ter jedko ironijo je avtor izrisal absurdno domišljijsko zgodbo, brutalno in neprizanesljivo fresko sodobnosti, ki domala brez besed podaja subtilno kritiko današnjega življenja in družbe nasploh. Ob odprtju razstave se obeta tudi avtorjev avdiovizualni performans.

Razstava bo na ogled do 7. novembra 2019.
