Bastien Vivès je nemara glavno ime nove generacije francoskega stripa, znan po tekoči pripovedi in ekspresivni digitalni risbi. Star komaj 25 let je leta 2009 na največjem francoskem stripovskem festivalu v Angoulêmu prejel nagrado za najboljši prvenec za album Okus po kloru (Le goût du chlore), pozneje pa je obilico hvale požel še z biografijo o mladi ruski balerini z naslovom Polina, ki je bila do danes prevedena v več jezikov, zaživela pa je tudi kot film. V zadnjih letih je skupaj še z dvema sodelavcema bralce in kritike navdušil s stripovsko serijo v manga stilu Last Man, ki je doživela tudi predelavo v risanko in videoigro. Na festivalu bo na predavanju, tudi ob risanju v živo, predstavil svoje delo in ustvarjalni proces.
