The comics festival will reach a boiling point at the comics fair in Kino Šiška on Saturday. At the fair, all fans of comics will be able to browse this year’s comics issues and a select offer by publishers, comics stores and sellers of second-hand classics. The lively haggling at the fair will be accompanied by varied events, such as comic book presentations and signings, live drawing and printing, workshops for children, exhibitions, discussions with Slovenian and foreign authors…
The focus will be on topics such as social engagement and refugees in comics, as well as comic book adaptations of literary works and comic book biographies that celebrate the (super)heroes of our time, such as Ivan Cankar. With our Croatian guests, we will scrutinize the position and creative condition of comics in Croatia, as well as screen select episodes of the documentary series Comics in Croatia and animated short films by Croatian author Irena Jukić Pranjić, while Matej Kocjan – Koco will present an exhibition titled How Are Comics Made?.
Organisation: Kino Šiška.
