kuš! je majhna, a mogočna neodvisna stripovska založba iz Latvije, ustanovljena leta 2007 v Rigi, ki letos praznuje petnajsto obletnico delovanja. Najbolj znana je po svojih antologijah žepnega formata, ki prinašajo eklektičen in barvit nabor kratkih stripovskih pripovedi latvijskih in mednarodnih avtorjev, vsaka številka pa je osredotočena na določeno temo. Poslanstvo kuša! je že od samega začetka popularizirati strip v državi, kjer ta medij prej praktično ni obstajal, ter promovirati latvijski strip v tujini. kuš! ne le da izdaja stripe, ampak organizira tudi razstave, delavnice, rezidence, stripovske džem sešne in druge dogodke, latvijsko stripovsko vročico pa širi tudi na mednarodnih stripovskih festivalih in sejmih po svetu.

V galeriji DobraVaga bo na ogled skupinska razstava Nazaj k naravi, ki predstavlja izbrana dela kuš! avtorjev, ob razstavi pa se bo odvila še zin delavnica pod vodstvom gostujočih latvijskih avtoric. Na sobotnem sejmu v Kinu Šiška boste lahko prisluhnili pogovoru z Davidom Schilterjem, soustanoviteljem in urednikom kuša!, ter prelistali najnovejše kuš! izdaje – majhnega formata, a velike širine!

Ali ni narava naravnost čudovita? Včasih začutimo željo, da bi se vrnili k naravi, vendar ji večinoma kažemo hrbet. Priznajmo si: z vsakim korakom uničujemo naravni svet. Dobesedno. Pri našem trenutnem tempu se zdi, da je apokalipsa neizogibna. Ampak ali je res? Morda je že prepozno za spremembo, vsekakor pa je katastrofa neizbežna, če niti ne poskusimo.

Razstava, ki nosi naslov po istoimenski antologiji neodvisne stripovske založbe kuš! iz Latvije, slavi naravo v njenih številnih oblikah. Na razstavi so predstavljena dela latvijskih umetnic in umetnikov Rebeke Lukošus, Oskarsa Pavlovskisa, Lote Vilme, Agate Lielpētere, Ingrīde Pičukāne, Mārtiņša Zutisa, Vivianne Marie Stanislavske ter Marka Antoniusa Puhkana (Estonija), Ciare Quilty-Harper (VB/Irska), Thea Ellswortha (ZDA) in Harukichija (Japonska).

V sklopu razstave bo v petek, 7. 10., potekala tudi zin delavnica Vrni se, narava! v izvedbi gostujočih avtoric Rebeke Lukošus in Vivianne Marie Stanislavske.

Pridruži se latvijskima umetnicama Rebeki Lukošus in Vivianni Marii Stanislavski na zin delavnici!
Vuuuš! Plik plak plok! Presenečenje! Ali slišiš in vidiš naravo okoli sebe? Ali te kliče? Pridi in ustvari stripovski zin z nenavadnimi materiali iz narave (in morda celo postani eno z njo). Vsak izmed vas bo prejel svoj izvod zina.

Delavnica poteka ob razstavi Nazaj k naravi latvijske stripovske založbe kuš! in je brezplačna.

Obvezne so predhodne prijave na: ema.kobal@dobravaga.si.
Trajanje: cca. 2–3 ure. Delavnica bo potekala v angleškem jeziku.

Mednarodni stripovski reviji kuš! in Stripburger stripovsko ustvarjalnost zagnano spodbujata že od nekdaj – latvijski kuš! že 15 let, slovenski Stripburger pa še enkrat več, že okroglih 30 let! Svoje poglede o neodvisni stripovski produkciji, izdajateljstvu in vsestranskem delovanju na domači in mednarodni stripovski sceni bosta soočila urednika obeh revij – David Schilter in David Krančan. Pogovor bo potekal v angleščini.
