Edmond Baudoin is one of the most prominent figures in European auteur comics. His work is characterized by highly expressive black-and-white brushwork, often incorporating autobiographical elements. This is also the case with Travesti, which he adapted from the novel by Romanian writer Mircea Cărtărescu. To this story of an agonizing youth, Baudoin added his own experience of visiting Romania and his conversations with the author, through which the two discover their shared obsessions. Translator Suzana Koncut will speak with the artist about the Slovenian translation of Travesti (Travestit, LUD Literatura, 2025) and the interplay between the personal and the literary in his graphic novels.

The talk will be held in French with simultaneous translation into Slovenian.
